Residents who were unable to attend the first Capital Improvement Project (CIP) open house on March 10 are invited to join Los Alamos County for a second event on Monday, March 17, in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave. in Los Alamos.

The open house is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., allowing attendees to drop in at their convenience and speak with Los Alamos County project managers about various upcoming and ongoing projects. Project managers from the County Manager’s Office, Public Works, Community Development, Community Services, Emergency Management, and the Department of Public Utilities will be available.

Highlighted projects include the proposed Municipal Food Composting facility, Community Broadband Network, an Emergency Operations Center, Fire Station 4 replacement, the Manhattan Project Dormitory, ice rink improvements, Performing Arts Center renovations, DP Road phase II reconstruction, North Mesa Recreation Master Plan, Mesa Public Library outdoor classroom, an artificial turf study, U.S. Forest Service land transfers, long-range water supply plan updates and more. The full project guide is available on the County website.

The event provides an opportunity for residents to ask questions and learn about infrastructure, facilities, and sustainability projects included in the projected Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
